- Flat scope, 5 weeks
Quantum could not answer 'how are we actually doing' without two people and half a day of exports. Data lived in six places, month-end took three days of manual assembly, and by the time the numbers arrived they described a business that had already moved on. Leadership was making decisions on instinct because the alternative was too slow to use.
Reporting so slow it had stopped being useful
Six systems, six export formats, and a set of spreadsheets held together by one analyst who understood the whole chain. Every metric had at least two definitions depending on who pulled it, so meetings started with reconciling numbers rather than acting on them. The real cost was not the 40 hours a week of assembly. It was every decision delayed by three days because the data was not ready.
One pipeline, agreed definitions, assembled overnight
We built a single automated pipeline that pulls from all six sources, normalises against metric definitions the leadership team agreed on once and for all, and assembles overnight. On top of it sits an AI layer that writes a plain-language summary each morning: what moved, by how much, and what looks anomalous. No dashboard archaeology required to find out something is wrong.
Validated against a year of historical numbers
Before going live we ran the pipeline against twelve months of historical data and reconciled every figure against what had been reported manually, so the team could trust the switch. Anomaly alerts fire the moment a metric moves outside expected range instead of at month-end.
What changed
“We stopped arguing about whose number was right and started acting on the same one. That alone changed how we run meetings.”
